Hi, I’m Adam Weinstein! I'm a game developer and historian. Currently, I work as an independent narrative designer and game writer as well as part of the collections team at Dallas Historical Society. Through my background in both history and game dev, I've gained experience in museums as well as part of the narrative team on a variety of game projects.

As a narrative designer and game writer, I craft complex and engaging worlds, narratives, and characters for unique game experiences. I also often use my historical background and research skills to create immersive fictional and non-fictional worlds that draw from real historical themes or educate about specific historical events. Additionally, I've collaborated with other writers and game developers through writing rooms, remote discussions, and workshops to ensure the quality and coherence of a project's narrative elements.

As an Assistant at Fort Douglas Military Museum, I assisted the curator / director in a variety of projects and tasks that ranged from work with the museum's collection and library,  visitor relations with guests that ranged from school groups to ghost hunters, event planning, as well as general administration. Additionally, I also helped provide assistance and research into digital and interactive exhibits as well as other ways to elevate museum engagement and interaction.

I graduated with a Master of Arts in History from Cardiff University, where I focused on digital projects that help people engage with local heritage, culture, and history. There I helped the in-engine development of a digital FMV game that utilized the stories and heritage of a historic cinema in the area. I also led a team that won runner up in the IWM of London's War Games Jam by creating a game concept that dealt with PTSD and facial disfigurement amongst WW1 veterans.

I did my undergraduate work at the University of Utah, where I graduated with a perfect 4.0 GPA and have a Bachelor of Science in Game Design and a Bachelor of Arts in History. Additionally, as it stands now, I still remain the only Utah student to have been named a Gold winner for the Game Developers Conference's annual narrative review competition because of my analysis of the narrative of the indie game Papers, Please.

While in college, I also was a student leader in organizations like Hillel for Utah, where I helped build the Jewish community on campus, as well as AFK, where I helped myself and other game dev students get involved in volunteering around SLC.
