WWI and the Cost of War

Based on extensive research, the following website and infographic were research projects based on the immense cost of the war on both the individuals and countries involved. The focus of both projects was to demonstrate non-traditional methods of writing on and presenting history. The first project below details the extensive impacts of the war on those with PTSD from the war based on the gender roles, expectations, and pressures that affected societal views as to what a soldier should be and how they should act following the war.

For the second project, the focus was to utilize graphic design and an understanding of visual rhetoric in order to create an infographic that adequately detailed both the physical and financial costs of the Great War. Based on extensive research, the infographic focused on detailing the drastic nature of the number of casualties of the War, especially when compared to the number of casualties of conflicts before 1914.
