Tetris, Pong, and Gorbachev: Video Games in the Context of the Cold War
Focusing on the nature of Video Games in the context of history, I wrote a detailed and well-researched proposal for a longer research project on the nature of Video Games during the dying years of the Cold War. The resulting paper resulted in over 25 pages of thorough analytical research and writing on how video games and the Video Game Industry emerged on both sides of the Iron Curtain. During the process of my research, I pulled from a variety of secondary and primary sources, conducted an extensive historical analysis of the trends and events that are vital to understanding the Video Game Industry as it exists today, as well as utilized my own experience and education in game development to analyze the games themselves as the valuable primary sources that they are.

In addition to my work in the process of both proposing my research and conducting it, I also presented my findings to an audience of my peers with an emphasis of ensuring my audience could quickly and easily engage with my research without the need of extensive knowledge in the history of the Video Game Industry.
